IV Sedation

IV sedation is the deepest level of sedation offered, designed for patients with significant dental anxiety or those undergoing more complex procedures. Administered directly into the bloodstream through a small IV, it works quickly and allows the level of sedation to be adjusted throughout treatment for maximum comfort. Patients enter a deeply relaxed, near-sleep state while remaining carefully monitored for safety. Most patients experience little to no memory of the procedure afterward. Because the effects take time to fully wear off, a responsible adult must drive the patient home and rest is required following treatment.

NuCalm

NuCalm is a drug-free relaxation system designed to help patients achieve a deeply calm state before and during dental treatment. It works in four steps using a combination of a topical stress-relief cream, microcurrent stimulation via patches placed behind the ears, neuroacoustic sound therapy through headphones, and light-blocking eye protection. Within minutes, patients typically enter a deeply relaxed state similar to the moments before sleep. There are no drugs involved, no recovery time, and patients are able to return to normal activities immediately after their visit. NuCalm is especially beneficial for patients with dental anxiety who prefer a natural, non-pharmaceutical option for relaxation.

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is a simple and effective option for patients with mild to moderate dental anxiety. It involves taking a prescribed anti-anxiety medication in pill form prior to the appointment to help the patient feel calm and relaxed during treatment. Patients remain awake and able to respond, but typically feel drowsy and may have little to no memory of the procedure afterward. Because the medication can cause lingering effects, a responsible adult is required to provide transportation to and from the appointment. Oral sedation is commonly used for a wide range of dental procedures and is ideal for patients who want a stress-free experience without IV medication.
